Seeing the residents active and enhancing their quality of life is what Chris loves. He is caring and full of humor, and his positive, can-do attitude is contagious. When he is not at work, Chris enjoys spending time with his family and friends and staying physically active.

Erik Shorter

Director of Sales and Marketing

Erik brings a rich history of service to Solstice Senior Living. After 10 years as a Hospital Corpsman Second Class in the U.S. Navy, he worked as an outside sales representative for KLS Martin, a maxillofacial reconstruction and orthognathic surgery plating supply company in San Diego, California.

After transitioning out of the Navy and graduating from college, Erik worked in the culinary industry with major food companies, including Bloomin’ Brands, Sysco Foods and Hyatt Brands’ select service division.

Erik’s caring and service-driven career led him to the Solstice Senior Living team, where he looks forward to growing, learning and leading.

Taylor Kilgrow

Vibrant Life® Director

Taylor Kilgrow is the Vibrant Life® director for Solstice Senior Living at Sandy. Taylor has worked in senior communities since the age of 16. After graduating from high school two years early and on the honor roll, she was accepted into Harvard University’s cardio program. A fun fact about Taylor is that she is also a real estate agent.

Keith Pamplin

Culinary Services Director

Keith Pamplin has over 25 years of leadership experience at large culinary organizations, from restaurants to large hotels, to hospital facilities. Throughout his career, he has delivered extraordinary culinary experiences, overseen all aspects of food service management, and achieved high guest service ratings and the highest standards in multiple JACO audits.

Keith brings a passion for leadership and employee development to Solstice Senior Living. He looks forward to helping his fellow team members grow and to creating a fun, engaging work environment.

In his free time, Keith loves spending time with his wife, Michelle, and four children and grandson. They enjoy visiting beaches, reading and traveling together. He also loves sports, especially keeping up with the University of Virginia, Minnesota Vikings and Utah Jazz teams.

Beate Dautel

Business Office Director

Beate Dautel has been actively leading senior independent living communities since 2015. As an on-site living community manager, she enjoyed the opportunity of living in the community with the residents. She continued this at South Towne Ranch in 2016 with her husband as the lead managers until moving off-site in 2017. Since then, Beate has been the Business Office director with Solstice for the past two years. She is very passionate in what she does in serving the senior residents and their families, as well as the wonderful staff. Beate loves working with others to help resolve challenges while seeing the larger picture and focusing on priorities.

Due to her upbringing in Germany and diverse experiences, Beate can relate with others independent of their culture and background. Her compassion for others enables her to understand their needs, to comfort and find solutions in difficult situations. While living in Germany, she and her husband successfully led their own sales and technology consulting company for many years, which gave her a great insight and experience in managing a business in a professional and yet compassionate way.

Beate loves her 14 grandchildren more than anything. She also enjoys traveling, taking pictures, music (actively and passively), and most of all spending time with her husband and family!

You’ll love calling Solstice at Sandy home.
